It's Time to Ditch the Disposables

We recently came across a brief article in regards to men's shaving, and it's had our minds racing.  If you think about it, shaving is a bit of an anomaly.  There are endless schools of thought on the best techniques, which razor to use, etc.  Not only that, but not all products are one size fits all.  Your skin's composition and level of sensitivity are unique to you.  What we're getting at is you need to keep shaving simple.  Just because the design of a Gillette razor looks cool doesn't mean its good for your face, the same goes for mainstream shave gels - a "sexy" scent means more chemicals and fillers, not that it prevents irritation and provides necessary moisture while you shave.  In fact, the majority of drug store disposable razors have multiple blades (as you know) which is their primary marketing ploy.  The issue with that?  Instead of one clean stroke across a given point on your face like that of using a safety razor or straight razor with a single blade, 3/4/5 blade disposables surpass the comfort of a close shave and remove not only hair but multiple layers of skin as well.  Yes, for real.

With the scorching heat of summer approaching, the comfort of your facial hair is going to be a major factor in your enjoyment of time spent on daily activities,  during vacation, and while exercising.  At a minimum, the occasional trim (if not clean shaving all together) is going to be necessary.  Now that we have you kicking yourself for not being proactive and upgrading your shaving gear sooner, allow us to offer a solution.

Buckskin & Mane Sunflower Seed Hydrating Shave Cream

Developed to prep the skin and beard for a comfortable shave leaving skin soft, smooth and moisturized. Formulated to address the irritation and inflammation associated with shaving. With: aloe to soothe the skin; allantoin and panthenol to help prevent and heal irritation; Calendula to protect and calm the skin; sunflower seed and plant esters to condition the skin; and soy protein to repair the skins hydration capability.

Double-Edge Safety Razor

The safety razor was first introduced in the late 18th century as a safer alternative to a straight razor.  Popular with older generations of men, this traditional-style shave is experiencing a renewed popularity with modern men who care about the craft of shaving.  The custom chrome-plated Double-Edge (DE) Safety Razor was created with serious wet shavers in mind.  It helps reduce ingrown hairs and razor burn and will last for years to come.  What's more, the blades cost next to nothing to replace unlike the disposable blades you continue to waste money on, and they are made from steel rather than plastic so they are environmentally conscious.

If you haven't already made these crucial changes to your shaving game, it's time to do so.  You are not only doing your face a disservice but mankind as well.  Our Sunflower Seed shave cream and Double-Edge Safety Razor will make a truly unique addition to your bathroom counter, and fresh update to your daily grooming regimen.  Both these must-have items are available via our "shop" tab and the links above.
