A Word or Two About Beard Care

We hope it's obvious at this point, but beards are a thing.  If this trend is news to you, we're guessing you've been living under a rock.  Curiously enough, no one group can credit themselves with the resurgence.  Hipsters, grease monkeys, athletes...the list goes on.  Our guess?  We attribute this phenomenon to the explosive re-growth of masculinity in the grooming and personal care industry, not only in the US but across the world.  Guys really do care again and we love it; which products they use, by whom they are made and how those products fit into their lifestyles.  Just scroll through your Instagram feed, it's all the evidence you need.

The primary component of a beard that a lot of you with them haven't come to terms with is maintenance.  Yes, growing and sporting a beard feels manly so often times a minimum degree of care and upkeep seems appropriate.  It's not.  As it turns out, caring for your facial mane is considered more admirable than simply letting it go, much like learning from your old man or your friends with similar hobbies to take care of your car or bike.  A beard is an accessory of sorts and should be treated as such.

Necessary habits:

1. Trimming - Not only does this encourage growth but it helps you maintain a consistent and manicured look (in a good way).

2. Washing - Just like your hair to the north, regular cleaning is crucial for beard health and appearance. Our 3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner, body wash will get the job done right.

3. Moisturizing - This is the step that really makes a difference in the look and feel of your beard.  Without proper treatment, facial hair becomes extremely coarse and the skin underneath dry, flaky and irritated.  A modest amount of beard oil with the proper ingredients will soften things up and lend control to avoid frizz.  This ensures your beard grows in an agreeable fashion and direction.  Just as crucial, this will soothe the skin on your face below the hair and reduce signs of irritation when you decide to trim back exposing more flesh.

*Gently massage a few drops into your scruff, making sure to penetrate hair thoroughly enough to treat skin as well.

We recommend our Camo Beard Oil
